An advertised program fee may not show the full cost of surrogacy. To compare offers, review medical treatment, matching, compensation, legal services, pregnancy care, delivery, travel and possible additional expenses separately. This guide explains how to read an itemized estimate and which questions to ask.

Why we do not publish one fixed price

Two families can need very different programs. One may already have frozen embryos; another may need an egg donor, several IVF cycles and genetic testing. A single “from” price on a website rarely reflects what you will actually pay. That is why Aurum prepares a personal, itemized estimate after a short consultation. You can request yours here.

The main cost components

1. Medical program

  • tests and consultations for intended parents,
  • ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval and IVF/ICSI,
  • embryo culture, freezing and storage,
  • optional preimplantation genetic testing (PGT),
  • embryo transfers.

2. Egg or sperm donation (if needed)

Donor screening, the donor’s medication and compensation, and coordination of her cycle.

3. Surrogate compensation and care

The surrogate’s compensation, monthly allowance, medical care during pregnancy, delivery costs and insurance. These funds are usually held in escrow and paid out at agreed milestones.

4. Legal services

Notarized agreements, legal advice, the birth certificate, translations and, where required, apostilles.

5. Agency coordination

Matching, case management, your personal coordinator, communication with the clinic and surrogate, and support until you return home.

6. Travel and accommodation

Flights, hotels, transfers and a translator for your trips to Yerevan. These can be included in a premium package or arranged separately through our concierge service.

Standard vs guaranteed packages

With a standard package, a defined number of IVF cycles and embryo transfers is included; extra attempts are paid separately. The Guaranteed Baby program allows further attempts on the terms set out in your contract for one program fee. It costs more at the start and limits the cost of repeated attempts, but it does not cover every possible expense (see below). Pregnancy, live birth and a child’s health cannot be guaranteed by any clinic or agency. Compare options on our surrogacy packages page.

Possible additional costs

  • a cesarean section or special medical care during pregnancy,
  • care for twins or premature babies,
  • extra IVF cycles in a standard package,
  • longer stays in Armenia because of embassy procedures,
  • legal fees in your home country.

A trustworthy agency lists these possibilities in writing before you sign.

How to protect your budget

  • ask for a written, itemized breakdown of every cost,
  • check what happens financially if a transfer fails or the pregnancy is lost,
  • make sure surrogate payments go through escrow,
  • compare guaranteed and standard packages for your age and medical situation.
